Pics: From the dorm's roof

The highway close to our dorm. There happened an accident tonight, followed by a huge fire, which could be seen very clearly and even smelled in my room.

Taipei at night, and in the center: Taipei 101 - a really gorgeous building, which I love to take pictures of and simply watch. There was luckily no smog and there were no clouds, so: picture time!

The other side of the river, all built full of large apartment complexes.

Quiet Taipei (English)

Taipei is actually more then just a noisy, crowded and polluted metropolis. There are some spots in the city that have a nice sphere and let you relax after a hard day of classes or work.
One of them definitely is the Da'an Park

I spotted this house on my way to the park in Wenzhou road (溫州街).

Old people can be frequently seen in the park, either chatting, exercising Qigong or playing some kind of boule.

Right on, Taiwanese people love it to socialize, even at high ages. Other social activities in the parks are dancing and sports.

I simply love it to take pictures of Taipei 101...

Stuugggi isch Möischda! (Deutsch)

Stuggi is Meister, das ist doch schonmal was wert!

Hong Tong from Chinese Radio Amsterdam in Taipei (English)

Today I met my old colleague and good friend Hong Tong from my time doing volunteer work at the Chinese Radio in Amsterdam. A volunteer radio station in Amsterdam. Programmes are broadcasted in Cantonese, Mandarin and Dutch.
As I learned from Hong Tong this are going really well and the radio is gradually increasing its activities.
Hong Tong was just on a trip to Hongkong, when he decided to make a quick visit to Taipei. We had a nice dinner at the food-court in Taipei 101 with another Cantonese friend from Holland.
Please have a look at the site of the Chinese Radio in Amsterdam and enjoy their great programme online:
